The Test & Research Centre was founded by people who care deeply about height safety. As part of our mission, we intend to use our facility to gather insights from our testing and training activities. This will be channelled back into making work at height safer, either in behavioural ways or improvements to industry guidance and standards.
A significant aspect of starting the Test & Research Centre, was to use the ongoing experience of the centre to gain new insights into the root causes of falls from height.
Falls from height continue to be a major cause of deaths in the workplace, as recent Health & Safety Executive statistics highlight. The UK has an excellent record on safety, but there are still too many people who never return home to their loved ones, due to a fall from height.
The Test & Research Centre plans to use its industry knowledge, product testing and facilities, to gain new insights into why people continue to suffer from falls from height.
